The biggest new feature is voice chat:
Voice Chat - The new Voice Chat feature is now available in game. Players will need to go into the options menu under Sound & Voice to activate it. Volume sliders are available for the microphone, speakers, and game-audio fade (which automatically lowers the game audio when a voice communication is received), as is a “push-to-talk” setting. Right-clicking on a player’s name now includes the option to mute or unmute that player. Muting another player blocks all voice chat from him or her; the ignore feature now blocks both voice chat and text chat from that player. It should definitely be a good week for WoW parody websites, WoW comics, and most definitely for the guys over at Ventrilo Harassment. However, for me it will probably be more than a week before I even have a new mic to use. I was never a huge fan of voice chat, but it definitely has it's advantages and I can't deny that I will probably be using it.
Oh, and a side note, they nerfed Shamans again:
Earthbind Totem: This totem will no longer break Rogue stealth.Because all the Shamans in WoW know how useful totems are for popping rogues. I just don't know what to do as a shaman with half of my crowd control now somewhat nerfed.
You're supposed to use the very mana efficient magma totem obviously.
ReplyDeleteWhich by the time it pulses and hits them they have already sapped you and/or stunned you from stealth. It has actually been proven that a rogue can walk right through our totems stealthed if they time the pulse. Rogues can actually sprint stealthed through most AOE effects meant to find them.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I believe shamans sentry totem should reveal stealthers in a 30 yard radius.
If its not magma totem failing to reveal rogues its tremor totems failing to help against warlocks.
ReplyDeleteI always get a full 4 seconds of fear lasting on me before the tremor totem cleanses it and half the time I run out of range and miss the pulse. I can only guess that tremor totem has an abnormally long pulse time.
What shamans really need are those mind control totems that Jindo the Hexxer uses. Now that would be fun.
Tremor totem SHOULD just wait and immediately remove an effect when it is applied. It would hurt the group utility of the totem, but that doesn't matter as most forms of Raid Boss CC can't be broken anyways.
