RIP Robert Jordan

Author Robert Jordan, whose "Wheel of Time" series of fantasy novels sold millions of copies, died Sunday of a rare blood disease. He was 58.

Jordan, whose real name was James Oliver Rigney Jr., was born and lived in this southern city most of his life. He died at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston of complications from primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy, his personal assistant, Maria Simons, said Monday.

  1. He touched so many lives, including my own. RoJo is the only person who I have truly prayed for in the bottom of my heart. I will never forget RoJo and what he has brought to my life. He will not be forgotten!

  2. It surprised me a bit at how sad I was when I read the news last night. I don't hold the Wheel of Time up on some pedestal, but it is an engaging series that has some great characters. So, it was a bit sad knowing that RJ wasn't going to be penning the last words of the series.

The good news is that his wife will be finishing the last book, and has actually been ghost writing on the series for a while. I will definitely buy the book even though I am only on the 4th book currently.

  3. Hehe I'm on the 10th book! Took me two years to read this many hehe. It really is some great reading. It's not LotRO but I have come to appreciate RoJo as unique and entertaining in its own way.

Thats great, I'm glad the series will get finished and by his wife not some other random person. I think I will continue reading the series then.
